Tiffany Chin draws deep inspiration from the vibrant visual culture of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly the psychedelic rock posters of the counterculture era. These illustrated works, known for their sinuous lines, bold colors, and surreal compositions, reflect her passion for music from that time and inform her artwork's dynamic, boundary-pushing aesthetic. She says, "The psychedelic style creates a playing ground where anything is possible, even if it’s typically perceived as 'strange' or 'nonsensical".
Alongside this, Chin is fascinated by vintage advertisements, the ephemeral designs meant to leave a lasting impact. She channels their gritty, distressed textures in her work to evoke nostalgia and transport viewers to a visual world rooted in the past.
