Jess Phoenix

Jess Phoenix is a Seattle-based illustrator who turns her love of pattern into a thriving creative business. Originally from Massachusetts, she grew up in a family that fully supported her artistic path, so when she chose to study illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, it felt like a natural step. After graduating from university, she headed west to work with the gift company, Compendium, where she deepened her passion for bold color and whimsical design. While working at Compendium, she had the opportunity to design products for brands like Target, Starbucks, Häagen-Dazs, and Urban Outfitters, as well as for countless boutiques across the country.

Jess’s personal artwork is a celebration of imagined florals, playful leaves, and blossoms. She’s always chasing new sources of inspiration and fresh ways to bring joy through richly layered, expressive visuals.

She and her husband, both artists, met at RISD and married in the years between her 2005 graduation and his in 2007. Her husband is originally from Seattle, so when he finished school in 2007, they made the move together and have called Seattle home ever since. These days, they live in a cozy house with two sweet senior cats, continuing to create art and build a life rooted in creativity.
