About the illustrator
I am a self-disciplined and introspective person. I constantly engage in inner dialogue, which sometimes leads me to take life too seriously. This can make me feel emotionally drained and makes me cautious not to come across as too heavy in relationships with others.
This temperament naturally permeates my work. My paintings contain sincere questions about life and complex emotions, but rather than expressing them directly, I choose to veil and embrace them. I often borrow the simple, stylized character forms seen in everyday Japanese animations that have brought me comfort since childhood. However, within these forms, I place calm, unreadable expressions that reflect my inner caution and unspoken emotions.
Symbolically, I use elements such as the meanings of flowers and visual metaphors to convey emotional and philosophical messages. In terms of form, I strive to balance the weight of my inner world with visual density and solid, sculptural shapes, expressing my sincerity as an artist.
Hiding my seriousness without erasing it—this is the emotional structure I seek to present through my work.
